The Power of the Force 2 Stormtrooper with Battle Damage

This figure came out in 1999.  I got this in 2018 at Book Off!!! Yeah! I love how Hasbro is doing everything they can to keep the Star Wars figures fresh. In this case the Stormtrooper has a battle damage feature. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I put the cold water on the figure but nothing happened.

It also came with a weapons rack! Oh yeah!!! That is totally what was needed with this figure. Add the weapons rack-  BOOM! - best figure set ever!!!!

This is also the time when Hasbro introduced the Commtech feature. I don't have a Commtech Reader so there is no way to hear the Stormtrooper's chip. Maybe I will get the reader some day. It's just that, if I remember right, it didn't sound very good.

Star Wars Shadows Of The Empire Swoop

This Swoop came out in 1996. I got it in 2018 at Book Off. I happen to be looking at the hanging action figures when suddenly this falls to the floor. I didn't even notice it amongst the figures. It's almost like it appeared by magic!!
This is a very nice figure and vehicle. The figure is interesting in that it does not have peg holes in the feet. I wonder if other Star Wars figure are like that???

The Swoop is cool looking. Any of the Speeder Bike like vehicle are neat to have. This one has a rocket that fires. Sweet!!!
This is part of the Shadows of the Empire collect that I never followed. I think it's because it is not a movie so I didn't care. Still, I like this anyway.

Vintage The Star Wars Storybook

This book came out in 1978 and I've had it ever since.
I only got to see Star Wars once in the theaters back in the day.
This book, with the pictures, allowed me to feel like I am seeing the movie again.
I loved to look at this book a lot.
I may have even taken it to school a few times.
It was the next best thing to watching the movie. When the movies finally went to video, I was able to see Star Wars any time I wanted.
This book will always have a place in my heart. Good times.
I have two copies. Here is the other copy that a friend gave to me. It's in kind of a bad condition but that's okay because I love getting vintage Star Wars stuff.

Return of the Jedi Official Collectors' Edition

I got one of these books back in 1983. I don't exactly remember which one. The other was given to me in early 2016. I carried the book with me in high school to look at and read. One student asked me if I had seen the movie but I had not. He then said "wouldn't that book spoil it for you?" Naw! Spoilers did not bother me back then. I didn't get to see ROTJ until about a month after the release. So, this book kept me happy until I got to see the movie.

Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy

I got the book on the left in 2010. A friend got the book on the right in 2015 for my birthday. This is such a cool book. All the pop-ups look fantastic. The geometry required to get these papers to fold like they do is astounding!
 Look at that AT-AT!!
 The Rancor! Scary!!!
The book even has smaller pop-ups behind small folds on each page. This is fabulous!
This cantina scene is so complicated that it blows my mind that this folds up so easily.

This is so cool how Anakin's face can be seen inside the helmet. Open the book all the way and the helmet closes. Brilliant!

Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition VHS Box Set

This set came out in 1997. Here is the official release of the special edition movies. Supposedly the "official" versions that Lucas intended. Yeah, like Greedo shooting first is what he "intended." Some of the changes, like adding windows in Cloud City, are amazing. Also, some of the changes I really like because they mostly improved on the original special effects. Some of the changes are terrible like the aforementioned Greedo thing.

I really love the poster art. It's very cool how they all connect. The art is from Drew Struzan who is an amazing artist. He does a great job of capturing the likeness of the characters.

Star Wars Trilogy Special Letterboxed Collector's Edition

This box set of VHS tapes came out in 1992. This is well before the special editions so these are as original prints as possible. The set looks great with the holographic image on the box front.
The set include the three main movies and From Star Wars to Jedi documentary that had been released as an individual vhs tape before.
It includes an abridged version of the book about George Lucas. Haven't read it.

There is also a certificate with the collector's edition. It's all good stuff.

Power of the Force 2 Ugnaught Figures

This set came out in 1998. This is part of collection 2. At this time the figure designs were getting much better. I got this set in 2017.
     Weapons and Accessories:
  • Tool Kit
  • Ruber Smock
  • Freeze Frame
  •  I still don't understand why Hasbro thought the slides were a good idea. These figures came out during a time of home video and video games. Why would anyone use a slide projector??
I really like that Hasbro included two figures in a card when they are very small. Very good idea.
