Vintage Comics Spain C-3PO and R2-D2

In 1986, a company known as Comics Spain produced a line of PVC figures from the 1980's Star Wars cartoons: Droids and Ewoks. While Kenner released action figures from these cartoons, Comics Spain produced characters that were not made by Kenner and also matched the likeness of each character to their appearance in the cartoon. These figures have been in my collection since the 80's but I don't remember where I got them. Sad story: I used to have the Wicket figure as well, but some time in the early 2000's we had a little earthquake and apparently Wicket fell off of the shelf onto the floor. I know this because the figure was chewed up badly by my roommates dog. Yes, I was quite furious!

Vintage Jawa Large Size Action Figure

The large size Jawa was not in my collection during my childhood. I got it with a lot of all of the large size figures. Unfortunately, the Jawa did not include the weapon. Sadness.

Vintage Imperial Troop Transporter

The Imperial Troop Transporter has been in my collection since its release in 1979. I remember playing with it a lot. It stayed with me through out the years. Unfortunately, the sound box stopped working. Also, I no longer had the box. I decided to go on ebay and try to get another one that was working. I did!!! I was so excited to hear the sounds from the toy.
I have also been framing the instruction sheets. They look really good on display. Also, they have become quite valuable and framing keeps them in good condition.

The set also includes a comic book that explains how the Imperial Troop Transporter was used to find the droids. It's a really nifty book.

I uploaded a video about the Troop Transporter. Check it out here:

Vintage Star Wars Toothbrush

Here is the final item in my "bathroom" collection. As can be seen in the picture the toothbrush was never used so like the Luke Skywalker soap, I didn't take the opportunity to "feel like a hero." Once again, I have no recollection as to where I got this. I don't even remember if I bought it or it was given to me. Ugh! Memories are so fleeting! Anyway, yay Star Wars!!!

Vintage Han Solo Large Size Action Figure

The large size Han Solo figure was not part of my collection when I was a kid. I had to wait until I was an adult to purchase it. I was able to acquire Han Solo on ebay in a lot of a large size figures. Unfortunately the figure did not include the gun, the boots, and the medal. It took a few months but I was able to acquire the boots at a low cost, but the gun was not cheap. Ugh! I wanted to purchase the medal but could not find the original anywhere for sale. Seriously! The medal was not available on any sites that I searched. It was quite odd. So, instead I got a reproduction medal. I'm okay with reproduction since this figure will only be in my collection and I don't intend to sell it. If I do decided to sell the figure, I would definitely not include the reproduction medal.  I am happy that the figure is complete and it looks great.

The Empire Strikes Back Metal Box

One thing I wish I had done back in the 80's was record where I had gotten all my Star Wars collectibles. This tin box from The Empire Strikes Back collection is something that's been with me since the early 80's but I cannot for the life of me remember where or how I got it.  Little did I know at the time that we would have this kind of technology where we could share aspects of our lives with millions of people. Oh hindsight!
The only use I have for this is to store all of the weapons for my Star Wars action figures. It's the perfect storage container. It sits on display in one of my glass shelves.

I just love that back in the day there were many different ways to collect Star Wars. Good stuff!!

Luke Skywalker Bar Soap

Going with the bath theme, here is the Luke Skywalker Bar Soap from 1981. As can be seen it was never used. Again this is something I purchased back in the 80's and decided not to use it. It is the only Star Wars bar soap I ever got, so I don't even have the experience of bathing with Star Wars soap.
The text on the back side is rather amusing. "Lather up with Luke..." is a very interesting way of putting it. It's always interesting the way companies have to sell their product. Trying to make a child associate bathing with Star Wars is a hard sell but they do it anyway. LOL!!!

Chewbacca Bubble Bath Bottle

The Chewbacca Bubble Bath was something I got only because it is related to Star Wars. I saw it in the store back in the 80's and decided to get it. I don't even take baths, much less take bubble baths!! I kept the contents of the bottle for a few years until I had to pack up and move. I didn't want the possibility of the soap to leak from the bottle and ruin any of my other Star Wars collectibles so I poured out the contents.

I also had this terrible thought that the soap would eat away at the plastic and ruin the bottle. LOL! Now the bottle sits on display with my other collectibles.
