Action Fleet Alpha Series Imperial Shuttle

The Action Fleet Imperial Shuttle is basically just a display item. The figures that are included are better than the metal figures for the Micro Collection because they have some articulation. Honestly the whole thing is really small. Why would anyone play with this when the full size action figures are better? So, this does not seem to be made for play. It's a pretty cool concept in that the set has a mini replica of the Imperial Shuttle as well as the concept design of the shuttle. As seen in the picture the stand allows both ships to be displayed. The mini figures fit in the cockpit of the Shuttle well enough for the canopy to close.
The mini figures are a Stormtrooper and a Tie Fighter Pilot. The Tie Pilot looks very different from the one in the movies so it's possible that this figure is also a concept design.

Micro Machines Action Fleet AT-AT

This Micro Machines AT-AT was released in stores in 1997. They made two versions of this AT-AT one where the AT-AT just posed on its stand, and another one that has a remote control that moves the AT-AT. It's actually pretty cool looking and moves quite well. It's slow moving but that's okay since it's the AT-AT and that is awesome!!!
It includes a Snowtrooper and an At-AT Driver mini figure. Only one figure can fit in the cockpit of the AT-AT. The lid of the cockpit doesn't close with the figure. Kind of lame. Figures can fit in the body of the AT-AT also. As seen in the picture the whole thing comes with a display stand that's white like the snow of Hoth. All this together makes for a pretty cool display.

The Empire Strikes Back Metal Pill Box

This is a micro tin box. This box I got in 2015 because I was curious as to what these are like. It is really small and is only to be used for pills and maybe mints. I don't use this box except to put it on display.

Spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi

The first of what has become a long line of translucent "spirit" or "hologram" figures, Obi-Wan was a mail-away offer from Frito-lay to promote the 1997 released of the Star Wars Special Edition movies. It uses the basic sculpt of the new-wave Obi-Wan.

Escape From Death Star Game

(from back of box)
"Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca are trapped in the Death Star Trash Compactor. It's your challenge to help them escape to the freedom of the Rebel Base."
"R2D2 spins out your moves, but you must decide what passage ways to follow. The safe way is the long way. And time is running out. You must turn off the tractor beam and pick up a pair of secret plans. Will you take short cuts that risk encounters with the Force? You will if you're daring, and could be the first to board the Millennium Falcon, fight your way through Tie Fighters, and reach the rebel Base to win!"
This is one of two games released by Kenner almost concurrently with the original Star Wars movie (Star Wars: Destroy Death Star Game is the other).
Each player races through the Death Star with two tokens (Luke/Leia and Han/Chewbacca), picking up good/bad 'Force' cards when they land on blue spaces.
Both tokens must reach the Millennium Falcon and fight their way across TIE Fighters to win the game!
I got this game from my friend in 1988. I played the game a few times and it was fun. Now it is pretty much just on display in my collection room.

Vintage Slave-1 Vehicle

The Slave 1, first issued in 1981,  is such a cool looking vehicle, and it belongs to Boba Fett! Although it has no electronic features, the Slave 1 has nifty features, like free-moving wings that lock in position, remote operated pilot's seat, side panel for access to cockpit and ship's interior, clicking movable tail cannon, and movable ramp to hold a frozen Han Solo. A cool feature is the black plastic carbonite-encased Han Solo. This Slave-1 has been in my collection since 1981, but I do not recall how I got it.

INT-4 (Interceptor) Mini-Rig

I recently took a really good look at the INT-4 and noticed that it is reminiscent of the head of the larger AT-AT and Scout Walker vehicles. The INT-4 has been in my collection since 1982 and NOW I noticed the similarities! Of course one main difference is that it has wings on its sides. I used to play with this toy outside in my back yard and had a lot of fun. According to the box image it can be deployed from the AT-AT. Talk about not paying attention because I did not know about that cool aspect of the toy! The INT-4 can actually fit inside the AT-AT! I had to try it!
So cool!!!

I actually have two of these vehicles. I got this second one when I was buying a lot of figures. It was in 2010 and it seemed sellers were more willing to add extras just because. It seems now that the new Star Wars movies are out selling are raising their prices and less willing to throw in the extras. Bummer!
There are the two INT-4's together. It's a drag that my second one is missing the front gun.

Return of the Jedi Badges

These collection of badges have been with me since the 80's. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where I got them. It is so strange that some of the collectibles I can totally remember where they were acquired but some just leave a complete blank in my memory. It can be very frustrating because it would be nice to know where I got some of the stuff. One thing I do remember it that these buttons were never used. I just kept them in my bedroom on display, and for a few years boxed away during transitional periods in my life. Still, I am very happy to have these in my collection.

Don Post Darth Vader Mask

The is the only Star War related mask I have ever owned. I decided the be Darth Vader for Halloween in 1984 and wore the costume to high school. I made the front electronic panel from cardboard and aluminum foil. The chest plate and belt accessories were also made from cardboard. I had gotten a really cool cape to go with the costume. I wore a simple black dress shirt and a black pant, and black boots.  It actually looked pretty good... from a distance.
And in a really bad photograph. LOL!!! Anyway, I had a lot of fun dressing up as Darth Vader. Now anyone can purchase an authentic version of the Darth Vader helmet. This Don Post helmet is made of plastic and is very uncomfortable to wear,  but it still holds a place in my heart with fond memories.

Destroy Death Star Game

I got the Destroy Death Star Game way back in 1977. I remember playing the game a few times and enjoying it every time. The game has a board with a rotating Death Star, and four game pieces that holds three X-Wing fighters each. The object of the game is to move around the game board to the Death Star and then make the shot to blow it up.  I lost the directions for the game so I am basically describing it on memory. It's a cool looking game and a lot of fun.

Tripod Laser Cannon

The Tripod Laser Cannon was first issued in 1982. It comes with "energizer" unit and hose, has moveable tripods, and a cannon that makes machine gun sounds when turned.  This is yet another item I got in the 80's and threw out the box. Argh! I have totally learned my lesson, but sheesh!

Vintage Ewok Assault Catapult

The Ewok Assault Catapult was made to look as though it was composed of tied-together logs, and it had a pretty neat action feature, which used the flexibility of the plastic to fling things (namely, the rocks) into the air. This is another item I got from my friend who was selling his collection. I actually did not purchase it myself because my friend wanted $30 and I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much. Instead, my husband got if for me and gave it to me for Krismas. I was very happy to have it in my collection.

Vintage Imperial Shuttle Pod Vehicle (ISP-6)

The ISP-6 was issued in 1983 as one of two new Return of the Jedi mini-rigs. This is another toy I got during my furver to collect all of the mini-rigs.
I was able to find it on ebay pretty much complete. It looks good. I like that it looks like a miniature version of the Imperial Shuttle.

Vintage Captivator Vehicle (CAP-2)

Released in 1982, the CAP-2 (short for "captivator") was yet another mini-rig. It was also the personal vehicle of Bossk. I like the CAP-2. It's got a cool mechanical vibe to it, and it's really cool looking. It has rotating legs that are fitted with suction cups that stick to smooth surfaces. Its rotating arms feature a claw and hook to carry action figures and to capture rebels. CAP-2 also has a remotely operated spring-loaded claw.  This is another item I purchased from my friend who was selling off his entire collection. SCORE!!!!!

Vintage Personnel Deployment Transport (PDT-8)

Released in 1981, the PDT-8 was one of the first three mini-rigs to hit store shelves. 1981 also saw the release of a "Special Offer" version of the toy. It came with a free 2-1b figure and a yellow sticker on the front of its box.  Unlike its MTV-7 and MLC-3 counterparts, the PDT-8 did not survive into the Return of the Jedi era. It was cut from the line after 1982. This is another vehicle I purchased in my attempt to collect all of the mini-rigs. I couldn't find one complete with box at a good price so I opted to just get the cheapest one I could find. It looks fine displayed on the shelves with my other mini-rigs.

Vintage Armored Sentinel Transport Vehicle (AST-5)

Another vehicle in the mini-rigs collection. The AST-5  was issued in 1983 and only available in Return of the Jedi packaging. The way the figures have to lay down in the cockpit and the shape of the vehicle it kinda looks like a coffin. At bit morbid. I got this vehicle on ebay after I decided to complete my mini-rigs collection. I pretty much did. There are more from the Droids and POTF line but those are waaaaaay out of my price range. I was able to get the AST-5 with everything seen in the picture for a very nice price. Excellent!!!

Vintage A-Wing Fighter Vehicle

The A-Wing fighter was released late in the vintage Star Wars era and wasn't produced in huge numbers. As the vehicle was seen briefly in the short-lived Droids animated series, Kenner opted to issue it under the banner of their Droids line. I consider it part of the standard Kenner collection, as the vehicle was featured prominently in Return of the Jedi and the toy is virtually free from cartoonish design elements. Unfortunately, I discarded the box in an effort to conserve space while most of my collection was in totes. That has been a huge regret. ARGH!

Vintage Scout Walker Vehicle

The Scout Walker (or, as it's sometimes called, the AT-ST) is a cool toy. A button located at the back of the "head" makes the Walker's legs move up and down sporadically. The legs could also remain motionless so that the toy could stand. The Scout Walker was seen for about half a second in The Empire Strikes Back. It played a prominent role in Return of the Jedi. In the film, several of the vehicles were seen patrolling the forests of Endor, and in the battle on Endor.  In 1983, the toy was re-released in a ROTJ package. While the first ROTJ version simply updated the ESB box with the logo of the new film, the second (and much more common) release featured an entirely re-worked package, which included a new Endor-themed photo. I got the Walker when it was first released in 1982, played with it for a few times and then stored it away for many years. It now is displayed proudly in my Star Wars museum.

Vehicle Maintenance Energizer

The Vehicle Maintencance Energizer came out in 1982. The purpose of this toy was for kids to pretend to repair ships hard hit by enemy fire! Exciting!!!

The hoses with suction cups are the energizers.

 The tools are the hydrospanners.

Vintage MLC-3 Vehicle

One of the first three Star Wars Mini-Rigs to be released, the 1981 Kenner Toy Fair Catalog description of this vehicle reads as follows: "MLC-3 is a Mobile Laser Cannon used by the Rebels to fight off the invading forces on HOTH. It carries one action figure in its manually opened cockpit and has dome for protection." This is another toy I got in my adult years. It was given to me as is. Not much to write about this but it is a cool item to have in my collection.

Vintage MTV-7 (Multi-Terrain Vehicle)

I want my MTV-7!!!! Released in 1981, the MTV-7 was one of the first three mini-rigs to hit store shelves. Unfortunately, I don't have the box or anything else that may have been included in the box since this was given to me as is. Hey, I got it for free so I'm not complaining. The MTV-7 is in my collection and I am happy for it.

Vintage Desert Sail Skiff Vehicle

Released in 1984, the Desert Sail Skiff was part of the second wave of Return of the Jedi mini-rigs. Since it wasn't on the market for too long, it's a bit tougher to find than some of the older mini-rigs, which remained on store shelves for several years.  The mini-rigs were a Kenner collectible that I was able to purchase on an allowance. Since I only got $5 a week for doing chores, buying Star Wars collectibles was difficult. These relatively inexpensive vehicles allowed me to get ships at a price range I could afford. Yeah! This mini-rig is cool because it is like a smaller version of the large sand skiff. It is also amusing that Boba Fett is the one piloting a skiff to send Luke in the pit, when it should be Han going to the pit. LOL!!!

Vintage Endor Forest Ranger Vehicle

The Endor Forest Ranger is one of the mini-rigs. It was in stores in 1984. At this time in my collecting I decided to keep everything in the box. As can be seen in the picture I even kept the post card which is a survey that poses questions like "How many Star Wars figures does your child own?" and "Would you recommend this toy to your friends for their children?" It's interesting that back in the day Kenner didn't even consider that maybe there were adult collectors. All of the questions on the survey are directed to parents. I really like the mini catalogue that was included with every boxed Star Wars toy. I always enjoyed looking through the books and seeing all of the toys I wish I could have. What's really cool is I have 99% of the toys shown in the catalogue! Yes!!!!

Vintage The Jabba The Hutt Dungeon Action Playset

Available only at Sears during the Christmas seasons of 1983 and 1984, The Jabba The Hutt Dungeon Action Playset is a re-worked version of Kenner's Droid Factory of 1979. However, the plastic base of the Jabba's Dungeon set differed from its earlier counterpart in both color and minor detailing. Its crane element also included two hooks whereas the Droid Factory's boasted only one. This is a collectible I purchased in the late 2010's. I was at a point in my collecting that I wanted to get more vintage items that were not in my collection. I figured since I have the money I may as well get some of the more expensive items. The dungeon was not cheap but I still got it for under $100. I was able to get everything seen in the photo for a very good price. The Dungeon is not a very good playset because it really does not have much going for. The only real reason to get this set is for the three action figures.

Vintage Imperial Attack Base

The Imperial Attack Base Playset is a simple yet effective toy, which provided kids with a suitable environment in which to act out Hoth snow battles. It incorporates several rather tame action features, including a combination bunker-ice bridge, which collapsed when a trigger was activated. While this is a very cool playset it doesn't make sense because the Empire does not have a base on Hoth, the Rebels do. So, shouldn't it be called the Rebel Attack Base? Whatever, the playset is something I got for Krismas in 1981 and it's been in my collection ever since.

Vintage Star Wars Droid Factory

The Droid Factory is a very cool playset. It came with a lot of parts, as well as "blueprints," which allowed kids to build a series of different-looking droids. By far, the coolest of these droids was the three-legged version of R2-D2.Due to its large number of parts, the playset is tough to find in a loose, complete state. The orange tube, metal rods and many white rubber pegs are among the parts most frequently missing. This is another collectible that was given to me by my friend in the late 80's in exchange for a Batman comic book. I definitely got the best end of the deal. I have never actually played with this set and never bothered to try and build a droid. I was an adult at the time of receiving this and had no interest in building except for the R2-D2 because he has the middle leg which was not a part of a carded action figure until the late 90's. I was so stoked to have an R2-D2 with a middle leg.  Yeah!
