Vintage B-Wing Fighter

This really cool looking toy came out in 1984. When I saw it in stores I totally had to get it. The B-Wing is very big and has "laser battle sounds." The cockpit rotates and stays upright no matter which way the ship is positioned. The wings raise and lower by turning one of the exhaust ports.

I got the B-Wing while I was in high school so playing with toys wasn't something I was doing at the time. Because of not playing with this, my B-Wing is in excellent condition. Unfortunately, it suffered from the purge I did to fit my collection in totes so I no longer have the box. Sigh!

Star Wars Micro Machines Collectors Edition

I got this in the 90's during the "dark times" in Star Wars collecting. It was a period after the end of Jedi and before the release of the Special Editions. There wasn't a lot of good stuff to collect at that time. I think this Micro Machines was a gift to me. I would not really get something like this. While they look really cool they don't have any kind of nostalgia for me. Still, it's nice to have in my collection.

NES Star Wars Video Game

The Star Wars video game for NES can be a lot of fun. Later levels can be very frustrating and almost impossible to finish. I found myself very frustrated with some of the levels because it was easy to take damage even from just falling at short distances. The only way I could finish playing this game was to use the Game Genie! LOL!!! I basically had to use the invulnerability setting to get through the game.  When I played the Millennium Falcon level, I had to pause the game to see the spaces between the asteroids. That was the only way I could pass that level. It's a fun game but Star Wars adventures were improved with later games.

Star Wars Arcade 32X

Yes I actually got the Sega 32X! I can't believe I spent money on that thing! Anyway, one of the good things that came out of the disastrous 32X was Star Wars Arcade game. I got this way back in the mid 90's and remember it being a fun game. There were a few parts of the game where flying around actually felt like they did in the movies. That part when the X-Wings enter the trench of the Death Star is replicated in this game quite well and was a great experience. Unfortunately, I don't have the 32X anymore so I can't play this game any more. Good times though:-)

Vintage Darth Vader Tie Fighter

This is another Star Wars item from my childhood collection. As can be seen in the picture this Tie Fighter is the second iteration or " Collector's Series" because I was not able to get this during its first run. The Darth Vader Tie Fighter is basically just the original Tie Fighter but with different wings. I am unable to display this vehicle because the wings will not stay connected and I have no idea how to fix them.

Sadness!!!! My poor Tie Fighter will not be able to fly to fight the Rebellion! Sigh!

This is the instruction sheet that came with the Tie. I currently have it framed and on the wall. It looks really nice framed.

Vintage Large Size Stormtrooper Action Figure

The Large Size Stormtrooper is another figure that eluded me during my childhood. I really wanted the Stormtrooper figure because there is something about this large figure that I like over the contemporary figure. Maybe it's the fact that it came out in 1979 and I wanted it really bad! I was able to purchase them in 2017 at a great price for the two. I am a bit bummed that they both have quite a bit of yellowing. Hopefully I will be able to use peroxide to deyellow them, the thing is the 6% peroxide is not sold in the USA so I have to purchase overseas. Buying peroxide on ebay from overseas would mean spending almost 30 dollars!! It's crazy!!! One of these days I'll be able to get the peroxide at a reasonable price. Also, the other problem with the figures is some of the melt marks. What is up with that??? Melt marks! How does that happen???  I plan on dismantling the figures and creating one figure with all of the best parts. That is after I get the peroxide.

Vintage Large Size R2-D2 Action Figure

The large size R2-D2 is so cool looking! I love that it has the clicking noise when the head is turned. Just like the small version!! Awesome!!! The dome is also painted with chrome which gives it that wonderful robot shine!
This isn't just your average large size figure. Hoh no! R2 also has a compartment on the back that opens up to reveal electrics. There's a button on the front of R2 that opens the hatch on the back.
Included in the compartment are two "digital chips." The images are on stickers. One of the "chips" is quite generic while the other one is the actual Death Star Plans!!!

Hoth Ice Planet Adventure Set

One of Kenner's earliest Emipire Strikes Back playsets, the Hoth Ice Planet Adventure Set was, for the most part, an updated version of the Land of the Jawas set of nearly two years earlier. The base was simply molded in white rather than tan, in order to simulate snow instead of sand. The cardboard backdrop was also changed to simulate an AT-AT rather than a Jawa Sandcrawler. Grossly out of scale and even a bit malformed, the AT-AT included an "elevator" platform capable of lifting figures up behind the backdrop.
In place of the escape pod that came with the Land of the Jawas was a tiny radar laser cannon.
In June of 2016 I purchased this off of Ebay. I was really excited to get this until I actually got it. The box is really beat up, as well as the backdrop. The base is painted. I knew it wasn't in the best of conditions when I bid on it and told myself it would be okay, but unfortunately it makes me sad every time I look at it. I'm hoping that one day I will be able to get one in better condition.
