Vintage Darth Vader Action Figure

My childhood Vader figure. It still has the tip!!! Yay!!! Unfortunately I had played with it too many times because a tear in the cape is on the left shoulder. Sadness!! Still, for a figure that has been played with, it looks great!  Recently I have discovered that very few of the earliest released Darth Vader figures featured a double telescoping two-piece Lightsaber. I thought about looking for it and purchasing it. I later saw the price it is going for. Um, I'll just be happy with what I have thank you very much:-)

Vintage Chewbacca Large Size Action Figure

At 15", Kenner's large size Chewbacca figure is tall. The figure has ball joints at the shoulders, which allows for a wide range of arm movement, and it has a cool crossbow weapon. The combination bandolier strap-hip bag is kind of fragile and seems rather cheap. Into this bandolier there are supposed to be inserted 16 gray plastic "ammo" cartridges, but mine only has 13. Each cartridge has a small hole in its center, which allows it to be clipped onto the barrel of the gun. The large size Chewbacca is not a figure I had since childhood. That honor goes to the Luke figure. I have always wanted the large collection but could not afford them at the time. Some time ago I happened to see on Ebay a lot of the figures and won the auction. This figure is in pretty good shape. The only problem is the weapon is broken and as mentioned before it's missing some cartridges.

Marvel Star Wars Comic Issue #7 1978

Issue number 7 is the first story after the events of Star Wars. We get to read about new adventures of Han and Chewbacca in this one. I have not read this story since I was a kid. Honestly, I don't want to take out the comic and read it again because there is that possibility that my memory of the story is better than it really is. I want to keep the fond memories. Unfortunately the cover art makes Chewbacca look like an ape...or something. LOL!!

Vintage C-3PO Action Figure

One of the greatest things about this figure is the shiny gold, metallic look. It helps to keep it close to being accurate. Unlike the newer incarnations of this figure with the flat gold. This C-3PO has been with me since the 1980's and has logged in many hours of play time. Still looks great!

For some reason I kept ruining my cardbacks by marking them as seen in the picture. I would mark the ones that I got. Unfortunately, I marked most of the cardbacks. Insanity!!!

Vintage Lady Gorneesh Figure from Ewoks Collection

Released in 1985, Kenner’s Ewoks action figure collection was inspired by the Nelvana animated series of the same name. The line was short-lived and only saw one wave of action figures. This is not a figure from my childhood. Actually, I was not interested in collecting the figures from Ewoks. I didn't watch the animated series so I had no interest in collecting. I got this figure in 2016 when I saw an ad for it in Craigslist. Considering the price that this figure was going for on Ebay the offer on Craigslist was something I just could not pass. The guy who sold it to me said it was in his garage under a pile of stuff, so that's why it doesn't look so great. That's okay, I'm happy to have it in my collection. I thought about collecting the rest of the figures. Then I saw the prices of the others figures on Ebay. Never mind!

Han Solo and the Lost Legacy Novel

Han Solo and the Lost Legacy is the third and final novel of The Han Solo Adventures trilogy, written by Brian Daley. It was released on August 12, 1980. I got this novel way back in the 80's during its initial release. I never had a focus in my collecting so I bought any thing I could afford. A novel was relatively inexpensive so I got it. Honestly, I can't remember if I had read this book.

Plot summary

While taking a well-earned break on the planet Rudrig in the Tion Hegemony, Han Solo and Chewbacca are approached by Badure, an old friend, and his female companion Hasti. Badure has a lead on the fabled Queen of Ranroon, the treasure ship of Xim the Despot, which has been believed lost for centuries.
Though Han is initially reluctant to join what he considers to be a pointless treasure hunt, he and Chewbacca decide to accompany Badure on his search. Accompanying them on their quest are Skynx, an alien historian from the planet Ruuria, and Han's droid companions, Bollux and Blue Max.
Han's group is not the only one on the trail of Xim the Despot's treasure, however. After landing on the planet Dellalt, Han and his companions are attacked and forced to abandon the Millennium Falcon. Their attackers steal the Falcon and fly her to a distant mining camp, where they intend to search her for clues to the Queen's location - by tearing the Falcon apart, if necessary.
Han and the others set off on a trip overland to recover the Falcon. On their way, they are captured by a group of religious cultists, descendants of the Queen of Ranroon's crew. The cultists are determined to keep Xim's treasure safe, and are about to unleash an army of Xim's war-robots to destroy the mining camp - and the Falcon.
Through the ingenuity of Bollux and Blue Max, the war-robots are stopped. Han and the others recover the Falcon and fly to the location of Xim's fabled treasure, only to find that it isn't quite what they were expecting: technology and war materiel which was state-of-the-art in Xim's era, but is now commonplace, inexpensive or in some cases obsolete.
The book ends with Han and Chewbacca taking the badly-reassembled Falcon back into space, with plans to borrow money from Jabba the Hutt for an attempted Kessel Run.

Vintage Patrol Dewback

Although the Patrol Dewback had virtually no screen time in the original version of Star Wars, Kenner went ahead and made a toy.  The toy came with a nifty trap door in its back, so that the limited articulated Star Wars figures could be made to sit atop the beast. It also was equipped with a simple action feature, which caused the tail to wag when the head was moved. The Dewback proved popular enough for Kenner to re-issue it in 1984, which is the version I have.

Vintage Chewbacca Bandolier Strap

Here is another item from my childhood. I got the Chewbacca Bandolier Strap way back in the 80's, probably 1983. I actually used it for awhile because of the novelty but eventually stopped since it is not very practical for carrying figures. The blue boxes are included for storing accessories and weapons. It used to have foam for holding the figures in the orange areas but it all became degraded and gross so I removed them.  Still it holds a lot of memories and is featured in my collection display.

Vintage Obi Wan Kenobi Action Figure

Honestly, how the Ben Kenobi figure came to my possession is lost to me but it is one that has been in my collection since childhood. I would play with my figures a lot but I also took very good care of them. Sometimes it just happens that no matter how well you care for something it will still get all screwed up. In the picture on the right there is a bit of something stuck to the cape. Looking at it closely it seems I tried to fix a tear in the cape by using super glue but got something else stuck to it. Unfortunately, it has been such a long time that I don't remember what got stuck on it. Anyway, it is still a good looking figure with the lightsaber undamaged.

Vintage Imperial Shuttle Vehicle

One of the largest and most expensive of Kenner's Star Wars toys, the Imperial Shuttle, released in 1984, was also one of the best designed. It came with a nifty action feature, which allowed the two wings to be lowered slowly when a trigger on the underside handle was activated. The shuttle also has laser sounds, and open side panels.  It includes a ramp that can be lowered underneath the vehicle, as well as a cockpit that opens to allow two figures to sit inside.

This is a toy I have wanted in my collection for many years. Back in the 80's I found it difficult to purchase because the thing was expensive! I was only earning an allowance. Later, when I was old enough to get a part time job, the toy was no longer in stores *sigh*.  So, I decided to look on Ebay to purchase one. The Imperial Shuttle is very rare and hard to find complete in good condition. Took me a long time to find one at a reasonable price. It is part of my collection, so, yay!!!
